A bit more about Oslo and RECE the location

The campus where the conference will be is in down-town Oslo. One hundred years ago it was a brewery. Now after some postmodern architectural and other changes, it produces 'higher education'. Among the Faculties here is Early Childhood Education (Førskolelærerutdanning). About 60 academics work in this Faculty. That's right, there are about 60 of us lecturing, teaching, tutoring, supervising praxis, working with postgraduate students and undergraduates, spending time in early schooling and in preschooling. There is also on our campus General Education (Allmennlærerutdanning), with another 60 or so academics working with and for children aged 6-16 in schools. So there is some overlap between us.

From the campus you can walk a range of famous sites 10-20 minutes: the Oslo Fjord, the 15th century fortress, the city hall where we will have a reception, the palace, restaurants which will not be cheap and other eating places we can recommend, the concert hall, theatres, art galleries, cinemas, many beautiful parks.

Don't get confused and go to the wrong campus. Ours is called in English Oslo University College but what will be written up might say only Høgskolen i Oslo. There is a tram that stops right beside it (called a trikk) and it's a 10 minute walk to the National Theatre Station (T-barn). The 'other' campus (not where the conference is) is Universitet i Oslo (Oslo University). It's a short tram ride from the city and the University College where we are.
